Hello Friends,

Many of us add the websites to Favorites. These are websites we visit regularly or contain some important information. One reason we add these websites to favorites is because after 2-3 weeks we will not remember the URL so it’s quite easy to just go to Favorites menu and look for them.

But how many of us backup the Favorites? Not many because they assume their computer is never going to crash!

For those who backup important data; below are the steps to backup and restore your favorite websites in Internet Explorer 8.

1. Click on Favorites button on IE8

2. Choose Export if you want to back or choose Import if you want to restore from backup.

3. Choose required fields, e.g. Feeds and Cookies.

4. Choose the folders you want to backup or choose Favorites if you want to backup all favorites.

5. Choose the destination where you want to save the backup file. It will be small html file.

6. Once backup is complete successfully you will get screen like below.

How to clear browser history

Many of us use internet on shared computers for example in cyber cafe, internet room in your office or at friends or manager's computer who has access to internet. One important thing we usually ignore is to clear the browser history after finishing the browsing. This might let another user to access your important email and internet banking information.

Why is it important?
Because even if you logout form a site it is possible that your username and email address is stored in Cookie and if the computer you used is infected by virus you will start receiving junk/bulk emails. So now you know how you get those vi@gr@ vi@gr@ emails!

How clear usernames, passwords, email addresses and any other information you typed in on Internet Explorer 8:
Step 1:
If you look at the top right corner of Internet Explorer you can see a button Safety click on it. Then from the menu click on Delete Browsing History (you can also press Ctrl+Shift+Delete while you are on Internet Explorer)

Step 2:
Check all the checkboxes as shown below and press Delete button.

These steps will help you to protect your privacy.

Welcome

This is my first post on this blog so I won't write too much but I want to :-) In simple words I want to learn what to post, so my friends feel free to suggest. I am good at computers (not a genius) and I would love to help my friends by teaching them everything thing I know through this blog.

One important thing, thanks to blogspot.com for providing this space for free.
